Nice website, as good as any club site I've seen.
I was with the Green Howards in 1952 as they received the Freedom of the Borough of Bridlington. Once on holiday I went over a patch of stones on the beach, nothing, a guy following picked up a gold ring in the same spot, first time using a detector. Happy hunting.
Nov 25 2009 08:41 am
Hi all, at the last meeting we agreed to have a buffet, but having talked to Guy the manager, it would cost to much to put a Christmas buffet on. He suggested we meet in the resteraunt, for a Christmas dinner before the meeting. So if there is anyone interested in doing that please let me know ASP, we can have two course meal for £12 per head, to be paid for by the members attending, but the club will pay £5 of the £12 per member, but not on the none members meal. The meal will be the carvery with a good choice of Christmas fair.

I have said this before and no doubt will say it many more times to come, what the club needs is a dedicated rally officer, if anyone is interested in the job please come forward, leads to farmers will be provided, and a monthly fuel allowence will be provide, on results shown.

Simon, your chairman told me that it was said at a meeting, that if the clubs merged the club would be to big to manage comfortable, also to many members would make it difficult for rally permissions on a farm. To add to that Chris Attlesy said the same words to one of our members Charley Pelham at a car boot sale.
I have not mentioned anything about rallies, i have always past on any rally information Rod as sent me to our members and will carry on doing so, like I said I do not have a problem with it. You know me Simon I say it as I see it and I have to explain to the members when they ask me how it was going. I agree with what Simon & John say we do get on very well on rallies, they are enjoyable, and if thats the way it is then it is ok by me and some of our members who also enjoy our shared rallies. So as far as I am concerned let this be the last of it, and let us get on with the detecting, looking forward to many more rallies to come.

Hello folk,s sorry for not reporting on the rally, been very tangled up over the last few days. nice posts from John and Simon, thank you. The rally got off to a very cold start, but after a couple of hours we were stripping off outer garments as the autumn sun smiled. Ray Judd and Peter Green attended from bqds and were very welcome. finds on the day that I know of amounted to a very nice Eddy, a Denarius also v.n, and an excellent Henry vii? someone unnamed also found a cut half of one of the Henry,s, one crappy token too corroded to be i.d.d also turned up, plus the usual bullets etc. some members were still there as I left, so there may have been more. A good day all in all and easy soft digging,
Rod.
Nov 12 2009 08:43 pm
John again you are right Simon we will all meet on rallies so no one need be negative as the main reason is to get on together. JOHN
Nov 12 2009 07:19 pm
Simon ere from the "other club" I have never heard anyone mention the future size of the club in negative terms or indeed numbers on a rally, on the contrary its more a question of more the merrier, everyone from our club who has attended the past rallies has really enjoyed the company of bq members.
As I say more the merrier and I hope we see more of you on our next dig, hopefully in a couple of weeks.
Nov 12 2009 04:04 pm
Hi everybody, so the other club say no, well we no that it was fifty fifty to merge would it have worked well i dont think so myself. we seem to get on alright together on rallies so thats good anyway. JOHN
Nov 12 2009 06:44 am
At the club meeting last night on the 11th November 09, some of the members asked me about the merger with the other club and how it was going. I am sorry to say, that they don`t want to merge the clubs back together. Several of their members think that if the clubs did join together it would be to big to handle, and to many people on the rallies may put the farmer off! but what happens on an invitation rally, if all the members turned up,? Of course they never do so whats the problem?
Rod their chairman was sorry to say, that the problem is me, there are several people who do not like me or the way I run the club, I`m sorry about that, I do not have any grudg against any of their club members, but maybe one day things will get better.
Until then we will enjoy or club and get on with the job in hand and that is detecting.
Dave Mulliner club secretary.

Hi all, what a good turn out last night, the bring and buy night whent down well. I sold some of my books, I noticed some one sold a coil, and the raffle brought in £27; so all in all it was a very good night. I did invite the othe club over for the bring and buy but no one turned up.
Does anyone have a field for a club outing? Weather permiting, Rob and I will have a look for a field, but we ain`t promising anything. What we could do with is a proper site officer that is all the club is lacking now, any volunteers? mmm ???

Hi all,
I would like to thank the members who turned up to the meeting last night. I hope you enjoyed the first two epiesodes of Treasure Hunting presented by Maranda Kickhernicksoff or sumat like that. The mytery find was not won again this month the find was a lead ampula, next month the mystery find will be a Vicy penny?????????????
You wish lol. The prize money next month will be £15, the mystery find could be anything found by a detector or eyes only from beach or land you got to be in it to win it.
The BMDS are holding a rally on Sunday the 18th of October 09, you should all have the directions and a map for the rally.
Good Hunting
