The Bridlington Quay Detecting Society of East Yorkshire England, meets at the Broadacre public house on Kingsgate Bridlington. The meetings are every second Wednesday in the month, meetings start at 7.30pm. We the society are a group of people of all ages and from all walks of life, who are interested in using Metal Detectors for the purpose of recovering and recording history. The society was formed in February 2007, with a membership of 26 adults and a junior section for boys & girls under 15 years of age. We have always been a family society encouraging youngsters into this interesting and educational hobby.
We have vacancies for anyone who has an interested in metal detecting. At the meetings we have guest speakers, we also hold a raffle and have the find of the month competition. We try and hold monthly outings when fields are open i.e. not under crop. Members must join the National Council for Metal Detecting or the Federation of Independant Detectorist. The Society is also dedicated to supporting local charities in the town.
We also aim to promote the hobby of metal detecting and saving our heritage from distruction by the plough on farmland. Members who wish to have any items posted i.e. photographs; reports, items of interest or items for sale please E-Mail them to the administrator Dave Mulliner.
